Medical ServicesBIO-IDENTICAL HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY in NASHVILLE

Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy provided and coordinated by

Karen Hyden, APN-BC, MSN, M.Ed

PHILOSOPHY: Balance ~ Purpose ~ Peace

Karen treats the individual not just the symptoms. She practices Integrated Medicine, a combination of Traditional and Natural Medicines to prevent illness, restore health and to give patients power over their bodies and choices. Karen’s philosophy is to integrate several medicinal approaches to optimize the body, mind and spirit. Her approach services dietary, nutritional and lifestyle changes as well as treats acute symptoms while balancing and restoring the body’s ability to prevent and fight disease.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Karen will obtain and review a complete medical history with each patient and then determine if any specialized testing needs to be facilitated to diagnose the underlying cause for symptomology.  She will develop a personalized treatment plan based on the patient’s needs.  Each plan is uniquely tailored for each individual to maximize the body’s restoration process.  Karen’s treatment plans resolve a multitude of hormonal imbalance issues ranging from fatigue, insomnia, depression, anxiety, difficulty losing weight and gastrointestinal restoration.

WHAT EXACTLY IS BIO-IDENTICAL HORMONAL REPLACEMENT THERAPY?

Bio-Identical Hormone, Adrenal, and Thyroid Balancing - Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is a natural alternative to the synthetically-derived hormones prescribed during traditional hormone replacement therapy.  Women with low progesterone levels may benefit from bio-identical progesterone at various stages of their lives.  Men as well as women benefit from testosterone hormone therapy with enhanced energy, improved memory and concentration, and an increased sense of well-being as well as the prevention of debilitating chronic diseases associated with reduced testosterone levels.  Additionally, testosterone increases muscle strength and bone density while reducing fat to add in weight loss and maintenance Estrogen replacement in women prevents heart disease, osteoporosis, depression, sleeplessness, hot flashes/night sweats and skin thinning.  Unlike pellet hormone treatment, the treatment methods Karen utilizes are more easily adjustable to reach each patient’s individual desired symptom relief, and health benefits, at the lowest possible physiologic dose. Adrenal fatigue can cause morning fatigue, craving salty and fatty foods, anxiety, insomnia, muscle aches, and increased irritability.  Karen will help determine if you may be experiencing adrenal fatigue, and can test saliva Cortisol levels to monitor effectiveness of treatment.
